This test will be performed every time that a follow up test is due. It may also be done in the interim to document that your blood is not getting too thick.
This is one of the tests that will be done every time that you retest for a renewal of prescriptions.
Testosterone may increase the thickness of your blood (increase in red blood cells).
If your blood gets too thick, a single or double donation to the blood bank will be necessary (some states or conditions may require an order from the physician).
If you cannot donate blood, then the doctor will write a prescription for a therapeutic donation. Your blood will not be used and thrown away.
Environmental or Behavioral factors that may increase the thickness of your blood:
Smoking
Living in high altitudes
Dehydration (this will make your blood more concentrated)
Sleep Apnea
